The Pilot Power 2CT offers an unprecedented ride for a motorcycle road tyre. This includes allowing riders to lean in at angles of 51.2 degrees - never before achieved in this type of tyre.
Two different compounds, for durability and sporty riding
The secret to this performance is Michelin's 2CT Dual-Compound Technology. This technology has been imported directly from the MotoGP circuit to provide sports performance, combined with durability, long-lasting grip and superb traction. This has resulted in a tyre that can cope with most weather types and road conditions.
The front tyres are 80% composed of a wear resistant compound, while each side belt is made from a softer rubber that grips the road superbly. The rear tyres use a balance of 78% harder compound, to 22% softer.
The mixture of two different compounds on the tyre's surface has several advantages. For one thing, the softer edges help to deliver ultra-fast warm-up times and superb grip when it's wet. The tyre reaches virtually 100% performance at the beginning of a drive, which is a significant safety advantage. Users of the tyre stress the excellent braking distances that can be achieved with ABS braking.
Another advantage is that the tyres are designed for even wear across the surface, even when they are subject to significant stresses in use. This ensures longevity.
The tyres can be used on these motorcycles:
- DUCATI Monster 1100
- HONDA CTX 700 N
- KTM 690 Duke
In addition to a sporty ride, these tyres perform well in accelerating, braking and riding over long distances, ideal for motorway journeys, long commutes or touring. The tyres give excellent feedback during the ride and excellent grip once they have warmed up. Fast direction changes can be handled confidently with full control retained.
