About the General brand
General was originally named the General Tire Rubber Company. It revolutionised manufacturing processes in the 1920s with the invention of the General Balloon Jumbos, a low-pressure tyre seen on larger vehicles, including trucks.
Quickly becoming an industry leader, General opened a production line in Mexico in 1930 and later expanded across the Americas. Operations were predominantly US-based until 1987, when the company's tyre division was bought by Continental AG.
With the European Distribution Warehouse launch in 2000, General tyres appeared across the Atlantic in a streamlined range that focused on quality models for rough terrain. By 2013, European demands inspired the launch of new models for winter road use, including the ever-popular Grabber GT SUV tyre.
The General Grabber A/S 365 was released in 2018 as the brand's first all-season tyre designed just for SUVs. The brand also now offers an extensive truck tyre portfolio in addition to options for all terrains, like the Grabber AT2.
Why choose General Grabber tyres?
General tyres have been developed with unmatched levels of expertise. If you're taking your 4x4 on the steepest, rockiest trails yet, selecting tyres with purpose-led design is the most sensible approach. Whether you choose all-season or summer General Grabber tyres, each model offers excellent grip and enhances traction on slippery or loose surfaces.
With innovative tread patterns that deliver superior off-road grip, General Grabber tyres give you full confidence on gravel, rocks, riverbeds, and everything in between. On the Grabber AT3, for example, open tread shoulders allow for self-cleaning on muddy routes, while oversized upper sidewall lugs protect the tyre body from sharp debris.
We recommend General Grabber tyres for both everyday SUV driving and rugged 4x4 adventures. Browse the range below and visit your local Protyre garage to get your hands on some of the best General Grabber tyres in the UK.
