Buy Michelin 4x4 Tyres Online With Protyre

Michelin began as a rubber factory in Clermont-Ferrand in Auvergne, central France. Pioneers of pneumatic tyre manufacturing, the new enterprise was incorporated as a tyre producer in circa 1889. The first tyre design was patented only two years later, in 1891. In the same year, Michelin celebrated its first high profile race victory by supplying tyres to Charles Terront in the world’s first long-distance cycle race. The manufacturer soon expanded into Britain and other European countries. Michelin car tyres in the UK have been available since 1905.

Michelin has been a central driver in the evolution of modern tyres. It was the Michelin manufacturers who invented the first run-flat tyres in 1934, then in 1946 the radial tyre design. The latter are currently used by almost all the world’s tyre makers. Michelin also produces Uniroyal-Goodrich tyres; they soon became famous for their motor touring publications – these evolved into the iconic red and green travel and restaurant guides and roadmap series.

Why choose Michelin 4x4 tyres?

Michelin tyres are not the most affordable on the market; however, as manufacturers, they demonstrably have a breadth of experience in developing top performing tyres. In particular, these tyres have a reputation for excellent road durability.

Michelin stands by the belief that producing tyres with all-round performance is preferable to seeking to optimise one feature at the expense of others. A tyre that is merely designed for performance may let you down when it comes to other areas such as durability. This all-rounded approach means that Michelin tyres have a robust safety record for all weather conditions. Like Bridgestone and other leading brands, Michelin offer a full range of tyre types including summer, winter all-season and off-road tyre types for motorcycles, cars, vans, lorries and commercial vehicles and, of course, run-flats.

    Tyres for your car

Tyres may not be the first thing you consider when it comes to vehicle safety, but tyres are your vehicle’s only link with the road. In fact, your safety (and that of your passengers) actually relies on an area of contact between the tyre and the road surface, which is no bigger than the palm of your hand.

Legal Tyre Tread & UK Laws

UK law specifies your vehicle must be fitted with the correct type and size of tyre for the vehicle you are driving and the purpose for which it is being used. This means fitting the right tyres, ensuring that they have sufficient tread, are appropriately inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure and free from damage.
