About Falken Tyres

A brief history

Falken Tyres was established in Japan in 1983 and introduced to the North American market two years later. Innitially, Falken was created as the flagship high-performance radial brand under Ohtsu Tire and Rubber. Today, Falken has solidified itself as one of the top consumer choice for tyres. By focusing on UHP (Ultra High Performance) products and winning well-known professional motorsports programs, the success achived has helped to further develop and improve passenger vehicle products for both domestic and worldwide distribution.

Falken's dates of significance

  • 1983: The Falken brand is created as a high performance brand of OHTSU Rubber & Tire in Japan
  • 1985: Started Falken Motorsports & U.S. Distribution
  • 1988: Falken introduces the Sincera Tyre
  • 1988: Falken Tyre Europe GmbH is founded in Offenbach am Main, Germany
  • 1991: Opened U.S. Headquarters in Rancho Cucamonga
  • 1996: The first 'Ziex' branded tyre is released: Ziex ZE502
  • 2001: AZENIS Tyre line is launched with AZENIS ST115 and AZENIS RT215
  • 2006: A Consumer Reports Top Pick: Falken ZE912
  • 2010: Falken introduces the Wildpeak All Terrain Tyre to revitalise the all-performance SUV and Light Truck segments
  • 2012: New Falken Tire headquarters located in Rancho Cucamonga, California
  • 2015: Falken becomes the Official Tire of Major League Baseball
  • 2016: The Sumitomo Rubber USA factory in Tonawanda began to produce Falken Tyre-branded tyres
  • 2017: Falken became sponsor of English Premier League team Liverpool Football Club
  • 2018: Falken became a sponsor of German Basketball League team EWE Baskets
