Dunlop Tyres

Dunlop are one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high and ultra high-performance tyres. Their ‘race to road’ philosophy brings our customers the benefits of breakthroughs forged in the heat of motorsport competition.

Dunlop are proud to bear the name of John Boyd Dunlop, the father of the modern pneumatic tyre, whose spirit of innovation informs the Dunlop ethos to this day.

Today, as part of the global Goodyear Group, Dunlop remains at the forefront of tyre development and manufacture, with a 125-year heritage supported by a global network of excellence in innovation and manufacturing.

It’s been a long journey, but we have never lost sight of who we are.

We are Dunlop.

Today, Dunlop Tyres in Asia, Africa and Latin America is owned by Sumitomo Rubber Industries. In 1999, Sumitomo Rubber Industries and Goodyear began a joint venture whereby Sumitomo Rubber Industries continued to manufacture all Japanese-made tyres under the Dunlop brand, whilst Goodyear bought 75% of the European and North American market from Sumitomo.

With Dunlop continuing to have such success in the market, Sumitomo invested $131 million for the upgrade and expansion of its Dunlop tyre manufacturing site in Ladysmith, South Africa.
