Protyre hits the UK's radio waves for Tyre Safety Month 2017
By Gareth Vrac
On Wednesday October 18th Who’s the Mummy blogger Sally Whittle @swhittle and Steve Dolby from TyreSafe met with Simon Hiorns, Retail director for Micheldever Tyre Services Ltd, at The Relations Group Great Titchfield studio to host a radio day campaign to highlight the importance of Tyre Safety month.
As you can read in her blog post, Sally attended our TyreSafe track day at Rockingham to test part worn vs budget vs new tyres.
“It was like the difference between scary, terrifying and absolutely terrifying! When you’re in the car with worn tyres, the amount that you travel is much bigger, and the skid much bigger. Trying the new tyres back to back with the budget brand made me realise how poor the budget tyres performed too.”
The radio interviews were broadcasted over 22 different stations throughout the day across the country:

Tyre Safety Month is organised and promoted by national tyre safety charity, Tyre Safe. A study it ran in conjunction with Highways England last year found that 27% of cars – or some 10 million vehicles – are driving with at least one tyre at or below the legal tread depth of 1.6mm.
Anyone wishing to take advantage of a free safety check can book online or call ahead on 0330 404 2067. Throughout October we are also holding public pop up event – to find out where we will be next check our Facebook page.
