Klaus Bachler and Martin Ragginger crowned the Porsche 911 GT3 R’s farewell race in magnificent style, claiming their second victory of the VLN 2018 season at the Nürburgring. There was no better way to send the successful model into well-deserved retirement, also drawing-to-a-close another chapter of Falken’s successful history.

No Falken racing car has been more successful than the 991 model, with the Porsche winning two overall VLN victories and clocking up a total of nine podium places since it made its racing debut in April 2016. The ever-reliable 911 raced over 30,000 kilometres on the challenging Nürburgring Nordschleife - impressive proof of the meticulous work of the Falken engineers.

During the run-up to the farewell race, Falken turned heads with an extraordinary initiative encouraging fans, drivers, team members and officials the unique opportunity to commemorate the racing car with their signature and a personal dedication.

Bachler and Ragginger, inspired by the unique vehicle design, achieved an outstanding top lap time of 7:57.656 minutes, earning the Austrian duo fourth starting position.

The Falken Motorsport Porsche team took the lead early in the race and proceeded to control the following competition.
