A fantastic weekend of automotive fun at CarFest
By Julia Freeman
The Protyre Autocare team enjoyed a fantastic weekend of automotive fun at the final ever CarFest to be held at Laverstoke Park Farm.
The ever-popular family festival, set up by DJ Chris Evans, took place at the Hampshire venue for the 14th and final time over the Bank Holiday weekend of August 22-24.
A new era for the festival gets underway in 2026 when it will move to Silverstone, the home of the Formula One British Grand Prix.
Described as “seven festivals in one," CarFest offers a unique mix of car displays, live music and fun activities, alongside educational ones. As a first-time CarFest sponsor, Protyre Autocare partnered with our friends -and seasoned festival sponsors - Michelin to make our presence known with the Tread Shed - a series of informative and entertaining workshops offering help and advice on common motoring questions.
In addition to hosting a panel of experts, our technicians were on hand to provide advice and answer questions, and we had plenty of games to keep kids entertained, as well as dishing out hundreds of the festival’s must-have fashion accessory, the Protyre Autocare straw hat!
Around 100,000 people attended across the weekend, enjoying music from the likes of Bob Geldof, Busted, Reef, Madness and Rita Ora alongside the motoring entertainment.
Big crowds for workshops at The Tread Shed
We were delighted to welcome so many of you to The Tread Shed for a series of workshops on the hottest trends in vehicle ownership.
Hosted by the irrepressible Petrol Ped alongside a panel of experts from Protyre Autocare and Michelin, we dived into the latest topics every car owner needs to know.
The team of leading industry voices helped break down myths, simplify technical talk and shared insider tips to help festival-goers save money and stay safe on the road.
Our three information-packed sessions were:
Ask the Mechanic! – Drawing on the experience of questions we’re frequently asked in our centres, we covered interesting stories, tips and helpful advice for everyday motoring
Busting the Myths of EV – Petrol Ped was joined by Dan 'the EV Man' Mclaren, EV Expert at bp pulse, and Garry Mantle, our Technical Training Manager, to answer the most frequently asked questions about electric vehicle ownership
Tread in the right direction – a safety-based session encouraging festival-goers to find out more about the four black round rubber things connecting your vehicle to the road – the humble tyre!
Our team really enjoyed meeting so many people at our workshops over the three days of the festival, putting their skills to the test with our extra-large dart board and rocking their Protyre Autocare cowboy hats – we hope everyone left having learned something useful for their next journey!
Myth busting with Michelin
Sally Fyffe, Group Marketing Director, from Protyre Autocare said: “Our team thoroughly enjoyed being part of the final CarFest at Laver stoke Park Farm and we’re delighted it went off with a bang.
“Thanks to everyone who came to see us at The Tread Shed – it was a great opportunity to bust plenty of motoring myths and help people make sensible, informed decisions about some of the most common topics we’re asked about in our centres.
“We would also like to extend our thanks to our friends at Michelin and CarFest for making it a weekend to remember!”
