Tyres for my Harley-Davidson V-Rod Motorcycle
Harley-Davidson first introduced the V-Rod in 2001 in a calculated attempt to take on the challenge presented by the big new ‘muscle’ bikes that were being created in America and Japan. Also known as the VRSC, or V-Twin Racing Street Custom bike, the V-Rod was designed to deliver the iconic Harley-Davidson experience, combining speed and style with that unmistakable engine sound.

The first model to come off the production line, and christened the V-Rod, was based around the ground-breaking Revolution engine, which was created in conjunction with Porsche, making it even more desirable. Featuring a Direct Overhead Cam, or DOHC, together with liquid cooling, this was indeed a revolution in motorbike engineering. In another unique twist, the fuel tank was repositioned underneath the rider’s seat rather than in the more usual placement to the front.
The design of the V-Rod took inspiration from the VR-1000 Superbike, including the Revolution engine, with the bike intended to form the basis for drag racing motorcycles. All V-Rod models were built at Harley-Davidson’s Kansas City plant from the initial model up until 2017, when production of the V-Rod ceased altogether.
Choosing the right tyres for your Harley-Davidson V-Rod Motorcycle
With the variation in tyre sizes according to the model of V-Rod that you own, it’s important to make sure that you buy the correct size and type of tyre for your needs.
