Suzuki GSX-R750 Motorcycle

Motorcycle Tyres for Suzuki GSX-R750 Motorcycle

Suzuki has been manufacturing motorcycles since 1952. Since then, it has been at the forefront of both road racing and motocross (scrambling), and this sporting success has unquestionably contributed to the development of its modern range of bikes.

The GXS-R750 is one such bike, having first been introduced in 1985, with new models and upgrades being developed on an almost annual basis in subsequent years. Since its introduction, it has always been widely recognised as one of the best sportsbikes, having a great combination of power and handling.

The early (1985-1992) models had engines which were cooled by air and oil to help contain their weight, but in 1992, Suzuki introduced the water-cooled engines. In 1996, the engines were further refined and became known as SRAD (Suzuki Ram Air Direct). The SRAD was a real revolution, producing a significant improvement in performance. It was, at that time, lighter than most 600cc bikes, but it delivered the power of a 750, and soon became a real favourite for sportsbike enthusiasts. In 2011, Suzuki launched its latest version of the GXS-R750, and it has remained in pretty much the same "spec" ever since, with only minor modifications throughout its lifetime.

Choose the Right Tyres for the Suzuki GSX-R750 Motorcycle

As you can imagine, buying the right tyres for a Suzuki GXS-R750 motorcycle is critical to achieving optimum braking, steering, handling and, of course, fuel economy. Different tyres vary in their delivery of these features and your choice of tyres for your Suzuki GXS-R750 motorcycle will depend on the type of riding you plan to do and your riding style. General riding around town might produce entirely different requirements from long, cross-country rides - not to mention potentially using your bike on a trackday!

Front tyres are 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) and rears are 180/55ZR17M/C (73W) and the bike comes with Bridgestone Battlax BT-016 tyres as original equipment. These are Bridgestone's all-round sports tyres and are standard equipment on many sportsbikes. Being the OEM tyre, they are always a good choice when replacing your tyres. However, there are also a number of other suitable tyres from other leading manufacturers, such as:

(i) Avon VP2 Sport
(ii) Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2
(iii) Continental Conti Sport Attack
(iv) Dunlop SportSmart
(v) Maxxis Supermaxx Sport
(vi) Michelin Power Pure
(vii) Metzler Sportec M5
