When the Megamoto quickly followed in 2006, it subtly suggested getting off the track and onto the road, with the emphasis on stylish detail and carbon parts, a boxer engine and reduced weight. It was still able to demonstrate its resilience when it excelled in the famous “Race to the Clouds” at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado.
The last of the range, the Sport, was introduced in 2008 and manufactured until 2012 with a carbon fibre rear subframe and Ohlins suspension. It was the first DOHC motor ever produced by BMW.
