About Aprilia
Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle company that is owned by Piaggio. Originally manufacturing bicycles, through the years Aprilia have expanded to manufacture scooters and small-capacity motorcycles and in more recent times producing large sportbikes like the 1,000 cc V-twin RSV Mille and the V4 RSV4.
Aprilia has enjoyed considerable success in road-racing. Although a relatively small company by motorcycling standards across the globe, Aprilia is very active in motorcycle sports.
Aprilia has participated in the FIM MotoGP World Championship from 2002 through to 2004 and from 1999 to 2002 they have participated in the FIM Superbike World Championship. Aprilia returned to the World Superbike and MotoGP since the 2009 and 2012 seasons respectively.
