Book MOT Test Check for my Volvo
If you're the owner of a car that's more than three years old, you will know it is legally required to have a valid MOT certificate. Perhaps you've benefited from a dealer's service and MOT plan but this has now expired, or maybe you're wondering if you can get the quality and professionalism of a main dealership at a better price elsewhere.
At Protyre, we take pride in knowing our customers' cars as well as the manufacturer. If you have a Volvo XC90, XC60, V90, V40 or S90, you can rest assured that our network of over 30 garages will have all the skills and diagnostic equipment needed to ensure your car gets through its MOT as quickly and easily as possible - and at a very competitive price. We don't scrimp on quality either - any repairs to Volvos are undertaken using only genuine Volvo or Original Equipment parts.
Volvo XC90
This refined SUV satisfies even the most demanding driver with its top-notch technology and excellent handling. It's this technology that can sometimes let it down in its MOT: electrical equipment, lamps and reflectors are by far the most common reason for failure. Brakes and tyres come some way behind.
Volvo XC60
A good-looking mid-sized model that is filled with safety features, this vehicle's popularity is no surprise. As with its larger cousin, the XC90, it is electrical equipment, lamps and reflectors that are the most usual reasons for an MOT failure. Tyres are not far behind, with brakes coming in a distant third.
Volvo V90
This is another model with very impressive safety features, including a semi-autonomous driving system and autonomous braking. Its standard technological features are equally good. All this technology generally performs well, as evidenced in MOT tests, when it tends to be suspension that most frequently results in a fail. Brake issues are the second most commonly occurring fault.
Volvo V40
This five-door hatchback does not stint on technology. Its features include automatic steering aimed at keeping the car in its lane, a Park Assist Pilot and a pedestrian detection system with an automatic brake. There's no standout reason why this model might fail its MOT, but brakes tend to be the most frequent reason, with electrical equipment, lamps and reflectors not far behind.
Suspension can also be an issue.
Volvo S90
This high-quality saloon is luxurious, drives well and is fitted with excellent safety technology. As with so many other Volvo models, it is electrical equipment, lamps and reflectors that are the most common reasons behind an S90 MOT failure. Brakes, suspension and tyres can also sometimes cause hitches.
