Tesla Model 3

Tesla Model 3 Tyres

Available since 2017, Tesla’s Model 3 is still widely hailed as the best all-electric car on the market. In particular, it has impressive range and performance and seems to be proving reliable in service.

This compact executive is offered in three trims and the specifications have also varied each year. Different models are equipped with either one or two batteries and motors and can be rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Understandably, performance differs between versions, but is impressive across the range. For example, the original 2017 Model 3 can deliver 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds while the latest Performance version brings that down to as little as 3.2 seconds.

The digital technology available is also cutting edge. The steering stiffness, regenerative brakes and accelerator are all adjustable to suit your driving style. Full self-driving is available for the later models, with a facility to “call” the car to come to you in a car-park.

When looking for new tyres, one of the first questions to consider is what type of tyres you want for your Tesla Model 3. The best solution is to check the current tyres that are installed in the car so you can determine the exact size, together with the tyre model in case you want to replicate the original set up

New Tyres for your Tesla Model 3

As with all electric vehicles, the Model 3’s motors are very quiet. As a result, many owners become conscious of the noise generated between the tyres and the road. Some complain that this vibration can also set off an annoying high-frequency buzz in the chassis. In our experience, road noise can be suppressed by a careful choice of tyres and by foregoing the option of larger rim sizes, because these reduce the percentage of rubber between you and the road.

Our tyre professionals are always happy to discuss your options so that you know what is involved, including the costs of fitting and how to select the right tyres. Manufacturers include Falken, GT Radial, Michelin, Pirelli, Continental and Goodyear.
