About Ford Kuga

A compact mid-sized SUV produced by Ford since 2008, the Kuga comes in both front-wheel and four-wheel drive editions. Today's version was launched in 2013, but had a slight facelift in late 2016. The car comes in both 1.5 and 2.0-litre diesel engines in addition to a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 118bhp, 180bhp and 148bhp respectively. The less powerful versions are available with only front-wheel drive, while the 2.0-litre comes with four-wheel drive along with an automatic box as standard. If you're after maximum miles to the gallon then the 1.5-litre diesel is your best bet.

A pretty quiet ride can be had, even with the 2.0-litre diesel engine which is impressively quiet at low revs and even at full throttle the noise never becomes intrusive. When it comes to safety, the Kuga scores top marks. In the Euro NCAP crash test, the vehicle scored 94% for adult protection and 86% for child protection. An alarm and an immobiliser come as standard and the car was awarded five stars out of five by Thatcham Research for overall theft protection and four out of five for intrusion prevention.
