This second-generation car, which dropped the prefix “Continental”, was an attempt to make the Flying Spur more opulent and spacious, moving it away from its predecessor's rather more driver orientated focus. While the design was changed, the new car continued to use the same engineering platform as the previous model. The car is built in Crewe in the UK.
 
The Flying Spur comes with a turbocharged 6.0 litre W12 petrol unit or an Audi-derived 4.0 litre V8. Both are four-wheel drive and drive through an eight-speed automatic transmission. They feature cylinder deactivation which is designed to improve emissions output. The car is capable of achieving 0-60mph in a mere 4.5 secs and 100mph in 10.4 secs - it’s a fast car.
 
Inside, drivers and passengers will find wide and beautifully stitched seats complete with heating and massage modes. The steering wheel is also large by modern standards, although a smaller three-spoke option is available for those who want it. A walnut burr veneer adds to the luxurious interior. And if this isn’t to your liking, there are a further six real veneers to choose from. Of course, all of this will set you back a cool £132,800 at the very lowest end.
