What tyres does BMW recommend?

Which tyres are most suitable for your vehicle depends on a number of factors, including how often you use it, in what conditions, for what purpose, the type of vehicle (i.e. passenger car, van, or 4x4) and your budget.

BMW Group reported sales of almost 240,000 BMW and MINIs in 2018, making it the 12th most popular brand. The BMW 1 Series 5-door was BMWs biggest selling model in 2018, followed by the 3 Series Saloon, the 5 Series Saloon, and the X1. 67,021 Minis were sold.

Continental Sport Contact 5 SSR - an ultra-high-performance tyre offering excellent steering precision, superb grip and handling. It is also a run-flat tyre.

BMW 5 Series Saloon

Goodyear Excellence - this tyre provides superb performance in both wet and dry conditions thanks to its silica compound and new polymers that combine to improve grip level. It also places a strong emphasis on safety and comfort.
 
Pirelli P7 Cinturato - this tyre is optimised to lower fuel consumption and offers outstanding braking performance together with reliable & responsive handling.
 
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT - this tyre gives superb grip in both wet and dry conditions, excellent cornering stability and high overall performance.

BMW X1

Goodyear EfficientGrip - this tyre provides high performance, reduced fuel consumption, superb wet braking and a quiet comfortable ride.
 
Bridgestone Turanza T001 - this tyre offers excellent stability at speed, superb control and aquaplaning resistance, reduced irregular tread wear and low noise.

Mini Cooper/Hatch

Michelin CrossClimate Plus - this premium all-season tyre gives solid all-round performance in all conditions, precise steering, short braking, low wear, and good comfort.
 
Dunlop's SP Sport 01 - this ultra-high performance summer tyre gives enhanced comfort and control, a high level of aquaplaning safety and excellent handling at high speeds.
