About Volkswagen Jetta

The VW Jetta was first produced in 1979 and was subsequently rebranded as the VW Vento and VW Bora before reverting back to its original name. The VW Jetta is a saloon version of the legendary VW Golf but is much less common than the Golf in the UK, where hatchbacks are more popular. The Jetta competes with the Peugeot 308, Audi A3, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and Nissan Sentra, as well as the VW Golf.

The VW Jetta is typically a four-door vehicle with a boot, although an estate version called the VW Jetta Wagon is also available. A two-door model was also introduced as a replacement for the VW Beetle.

The latest VW Jetta is the seventh generation which launched in 2018. As you would expect, the car contains the latest technology, such as VW’s infotainment systems, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with the latest safety features, such as lane assist, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.

The seventh-generation model has superior environmentally friendly attributes in comparison with its predecessors. This includes lower emissions and features such as a start/stop system. The latest VW Jetta comes with all the standard features you would expect, including air conditioning, folding rear seats, electric doors, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an electronic stabilisation programme (ESP).
